About following the Way
When you visit our blog, you can probably expect to hear stories about people we’re meeting and things happening in our lives. You’ll hear about movies we liked, songs we can’t get out of our heads, and books that have really made us stop to think.
You’ll get my take on politics, global events and other subjects—you know, anything about which I think the entire world would benefit from knowing my opinions.
When I’m willing to share, Abby will probably put lots of pictures on here (which will only distract from the thousands of fascinating paragraphs that I would want you to look at instead!).
But we’ll also post about things that we’re learning, especially as we are growing to understand more about Islam and how to best love Muslims towards citizenship in the Kingdom of God. We’ll post about ways that we need you to labor with us in prayer for the work of the gospel.
But most of all, we want this blog to be about how we’re encountering Jesus in our daily lives and how we’re becoming more like him by his grace.
Hopefully, we’ll also have exciting stories about how others are becoming like him, too.
It is our desire that each visit to following the Way would help encourage you in your journey to know and love and worship and treasure and serve the Triune God through Jesus the Messiah as well.
Here is our prayer for this blog: Father, you’ve created each of us to know real and full satisfaction in you alone, but we’ve lost our way. In the midst of our lostness, you have sent your Son, who is the Way back to you. May we follow Jesus with all of our hearts, your Spirit helping us. May he use this blog to spur us all on in the journey. And as we walk the days you’ve ordained for us, may we say with the psalmist, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psa 16:11).
